About Diane Gibson
I have been involved in education since I was 16 years old. I started my journey working with Glendale Parks and Recreations, working on summer programs that instructed children in arts and crafts, nature, and working with others. After high school I attended Grand Canyon University, when it was run by the Southern Baptist Foundation, through the rigors of the program I learned not only to love to teach but the theory and practice of good teachers. The understanding that you have to have a foundation of knowledge, not just a textbook to develop independent, strong, educated children. I received my Masters from Arizona State University West Campus in Elementary Education West Campus, with an emphasis in Adolescent Literature. I have been fortunate to work on an NSF grant to teach other teachers how to integrate literacy into their content courses. In my current positions with Western Governors University I am fortunate to work with students who are excited to earn their degree and continue the teaching profession.
