About Diane Hightower

In the book, “Leadership Jazz”, Max DePree draws on the musical leadership; what you hear and what you feel; genre of jazz to explain his sense of what lies at the core of connecting one’s voice with one’s touch. My voice has been shaped by over 20 years as a senior higher education administrator and the Executive Director of a non-profit college readiness and scholarship granting organization, and my touch focuses on providing a “student-centered” experience supported by mentorship, community engagement, and service learning. At the core of my leadership skills is a keen and intuitive understanding of nonprofit management and the significance of leading with an emphasis on systematic change, resource identification, and inclusive decision making.
