As an Accounting Manager, I lead financial accounting teams that perform regular, periodic analysis and reporting, and general ledger and bank reconciliations in compliance with U.S. GAAP, and consult with the c-suite and other stakeholders regarding the impact of the data on business goals. In one example, I provided aggregate profitability data from 52 sales offices to senior management that informed their decision-making regarding retaining or selling off certain offices. Recently, I was tasked with managing the dissolution of a $17B financial services company. This large-scale effort involved liquidating its assets, calculating gains and losses, migrating employee data to the acquiring company, creating a billing process for the transition, tracking severance payouts, and closing out the general ledger. With respect to process improvement, I identified gaps in our accounting system, and achieved buy-in from the CFO to purchase and implement a new general ledger system. I also provided the c-suite with business requirements that informed implementing an upgrade to our in-house commission system, rather than purchase a new one.
