Background
About Didier Moreau
Today, enterprises, public institutions, NGOs and professional organisations work in a complexe environment where biodiversity conservation and sustainable use of natural resources have become major issues embedded in the often misguided concept of "sustainable development. Indeed, it is important to anticipate changes or, where appropriate, adapt to them by adopting a coherent and effective strategy. My work, with my partners, is to accompany organizations to the ecological transition. As a naturalist committed for more than 30 years in nature conservation, my professional activity turned at first to conservation biology before integrating now the social and cultural dimensions into the conception and implementation of nature conservation projects. My approach is the one of an ethnoconservation (integrated conservation and development): the local stakeholders as well as firms involved in land planning are replaced at the heart of the biodiversity and natural resources conservation objectives the essential actors of which they become. As an external consultant, I bring you an added value through personalized coaching by helping you move your eyes to the difficulties you face. I show you my understanding of the problem and define with you a specific work plan. Based at the same time on the available scientific data and the knowledge and perceptions of these stakeholders, my work consists in- undertaking the interface between the local and global scales of conservation- building or strengthening relations between actors not being in the habit of working together to mutualize their knowledge and their energies- transcending the opposition between use of natural resource and conservation of biodiversity in order to define with them common objectives and help them to design and concretize sustainability.
