After a Ph.D in Planetary Sciences (Aeronomy of the Martian Atmosphere) started @ the Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics (LASP)@ the University of Colorado and National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) in Boulder USA, I was asked in January 1990 by the Belgian Science Policy Minister to join the Belgian Space Pole to organize the preparation of SPICAM/Mars96/Mars Express experiment and implement theoretical research on Martian Atmosphere @ IASB/BIRA In January 2001, I was assigned as Coordinator/Manager of the Belgian User Support and Operations Centre( ESA/BELSPO/BUSOC) and took the responsibilities to develop the Center in order to implement the first International Space Station Belgian "Taxi flight" operations (OdISSea Mission, second fly of a Belgian astronaut; Franck De Winne ). This ESA/BELSPO operational center operated successfully in the following 15 years (during my management) almost 60 space experiments and missions for ESA (PROMISS (2-3-4), missions, PCDF FRC, SOLAR FRC, ASIM FRC, FSL FRC) and other space agencies (CNES/PICARD CMSP, NASA/SOLCON, NASA/METERON). With this experience and between June 2015 and November 2017, in the context of the creation, at that time, of a Belgian Space Agency, I was seconded from BELSPO as programme/project controller in the ESA Science Directorate @ the PRODEX Office, supporting the Head of the Office in implementing the IMS/QMS (ISO 9001 compliant Management System), implementing the new Office DMS and contributing to the maintenance, design, development and validation plans of Selected Projects. Currently, I am providing advice to the BIRA General Director as Senior Scientist. My main duties are to monitor the European funding sources for my IASB/BRA colleagues. I am also working for the development of the BENELUX hub for the Europlanet society as Industrial Officer Since September 2021, I am member of the executive board @ the Europlanet Society as treasurer and I supported the manager of the Planetology section @ BIRA to create the Europlanet Association (AISBL), structure to insure the sustainability of the Europlanet Society funded by European Commission RI projects these last years.
