I am Diederd: director, facilitator and coach. The intersection of these three professional fields reflects my personality: I am naturally very curious about people and their motivations and am passionate about authentic human stories. Stories with a laugh and a tear in which the characters go through an evolution, both fictional and real. As a director I make television programs, documentaries and fiction films. As a facilitator I guide groups in their development and to better cooperation. As a coach I help people search for new possibilities. Through years of working with larger teams I have discovered the power of group dynamics, leadership, assertive communication and feedback. I want to share these skills, so that people can in their turn be inspired. I prefer to work in teams, so people can lean on me and my experience but they are also encouraged to take responsibility and develop themselves. I keep calm in the chaos by listening, analyzing and deciding. My keywords are: people, adventure, travel, cooking, outdoor sports, decisiveness, insight and quality. Although the order sometimes dares to change. At home, I am a fool in love, dad, cook and craftsman. Together with Karolien and our four sons, we live in Leefdaal. Here you get out the door and can go out on foot, by gravelbike, motorcycle or Olga4x4 to the four corners of the compass. And that's what I need, a horizon behind which I want to discover something new and then gladly return home. I always carry with me my late father who instilled in me the beauty of photography, the sense of adventure and the search for the unknown in my genes. I love cooking and good food, sports and going deep, mountains, forests and cold. I am a big fan of chef Francis Mallmann and am allergic to narrow-mindedness and intolerance.
