About Diego Alfaro

Diego Alfaro is a licenced Ontario Security Professional with the Ministry of the Solicitor General, Private Security and Investigative Services Branch. He is currently employed as one of the Security Coordinators for Training & Operations at Trillium Health Partners - a leading healthcare organization of hospitals in Mississauga and west Toronto. Diego is also a part-time academic with the Bachelor of Arts Public Safety Program at Wilfrid Laurier University. He always had a passion for learning and development in public service, conflict resolution, crime prevention, coaching & training, crisis & critical incident stress management, mental wellness, and leadership. Diego has a background in security and policing totalling over 15 years of experience. During his time in the field of Public Safety, Diego has gain an interest in Mental Health & Well-being, especially for First Responders. Further, he currently holds certifications as a Certified Critical Incident Stress Debriefer (CCISD) and has completed his Police Mental Wellness Certificate, achieving his certification as a Certified Police Wellness Officer (CPWO). Most recently, he completed training in Mental Health and Wellbeing in the Workplace from St. John’s Ambulance. As a security leader in healthcare field, he recently obtained his Certified Healthcare Security Supervisor (CHSS) certification from the International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS). Moreover, he is also working on obtaining his certification in the Certified Security Supervision and Management (CSSM) from the International Foundation of Protection Officers (IFPO).
