About Diego Bello

I’m an architect and civil engineer, co-founder of Green Loop in 2009, a sustainability consulting firm with offices in Miami, Bogotá, and Medellín. Green Loop was born from a question that has always guided me: what if buildings could go beyond just raising walls and actually care for people and the planet? With that conviction, I decided to work alongside developers, investors, and companies in the design, construction, and operation of sustainable projects that meet the highest international standards. As a LEED Fellow, WELL Faculty, and accredited professional in multiple systems, I lead strategies that put the health and well-being of occupants at the center—while never losing sight of financial feasibility. Today, I’m proud to share that we’ve delivered more than 350 sustainability consultancies across 7 countries in the Americas, assessed over 40 million ft² in interiors, commercial, multifamily, and master planning projects, and participated in more than 120 LEED-registered projects, with over 70 already certified. The outcome: more efficient, healthier buildings aligned with responsible investment goals. Beyond my professional work, I firmly believe that true transformation in the construction sector is only possible through education. That’s why I’ve shared knowledge through conferences, workshops, webinars, and lectures, reaching more than 3,500 people in recent years. Teaching and learning in community is my way of shaping the future. Our company's mission is to achieve sustainable, high performance and above all healthy buildings for its occupants, within budget. I have participated in more than 120 LEED registered projects, more than 70 of them already certified in different levels. Another of my passions is teaching, because I am convinced that the only way to lead change in the construction sector is through education. Therefore, I have conducted multiple conferences, workshops, webinars and lectures, reaching more than 3500 people during the last years.
