About Diego Caro

After teaching both English and Spanish for years back home, I am now interested in pursuing a career overseas wherever my teaching or language skills might be needed. I am currently based in Prague, Czech Republic. Upon graduating, I first worked for ECELA Spanish Schools teaching Spanish, then I taught English at Instituto Chileno Británico de Cultura where I had plenty of opportunities for professional development. As a pre-service teacher, I taught secondary school students from 7th, 10th and 11th Grade. I have also worked as a freelance language tutor for many years, teaching General Spanish and English as well as IELTS, TOEFL and Cambridge Exams preparation courses. Having lived in vibrant cities such as Valparaíso, Melbourne, Wellington and Prague has allowed me to learn from and get inspired by people from a wide range of cultures. This has shaped my global perspective and boosted my creativity; skills that I apply in every lesson or task I'm in charge of. I consider the use of authentic material and information technologies as key elements for language teaching and learning. As a foreign language learner myself, I also believe in both autonomous and cooperative learning.
