About Diego Flores
My name is Diego Flores (Pitzer College, B.A. Political Science) and I currently serve as a Community Education Specialist at UCLA's Labor Occupational Safety and Health (LOSH) program and the UCLA Heat Lab, where I focus on mixed-methods research aimed at analyzing California’s recent Indoor Heat Standard, specifically through the lens of occupational health & safety and thermal inequality. Before this, I concluded a Fulbright Garcia-Robles Fellowship in Mexico City to conduct quantitative research on the relationship between rates of marginalization and homicide rates in the Mexican war on drugs. As a first-generation, early-career researcher from Los Angeles, I am dedicated to the intersection between critical social research and justice movements as a means for social change. My research interests encompass political science, applied policy analysis, demographic data analysis, and drug policy and criminal justice reform.
