I am highly motivated, determined and professional Paralegal, with significant experience in conducting legal research and verification. I currently have a P1 Licence and am considered to be a member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario. I have experience in the preparation of materials to be used in cases, as well as monitoring the progress of court proceedings. I am very interested and have knowledge of the evolution of statutes and regulations. I am very detailed oriented, have very strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as having experience organizing, tracking and entering legal information in databases. I have advanced experience in preparing synthesis of legislation, jurisprudence, technical, academic and other reports from having worked in the private and public sector, as well as having graduated with a Bachelor's of Arts (Honours) Major in Law Degree from Carleton University and a Paralegal Graduate Certificate from Algonquin College. I currently employed in the Commercial Law Section at Justice Canada, but have previously worked in the Claims and Civil Litigation section of the Department of National Defence/Canadian Forces Legal Advisor as well as having provided legal services in the Canadian Military Prosecution Office for a brief period. I have 3 years of practical experience working in a legal office, in both the Public and Private sector. Additionally, I have 10 years of management and customer service experience gained from having been employed by one of Canada's biggest pharmaceutical retailer. I have an excellent ability to plan, prioritize and work effectively under pressure by showing initiative and being action-oriented as well as over 8 years experience in conducting legal research, document review and analysis using a variety of legal resources.
