I just got my new certificate, “Come on, congratulate me.” I just started a new position here too. “So, who’s clapping for me now?” Thank you LinkedIn for this paradox of the shop window! Endless polished profiles and a platform that now looks more like Facebook or Instagram, with a never-ending feed where you get completely lost scrolling… Yes, my profile was viewed by 56 recruiters this week. So what? Does that make me a superstar? Clearly not. Because when I actually send out connection requests or CVs… suddenly there’s no one around. Silence. So instead of just reading between the lines of my nicely written profile full of experience and of course rejecting my message, maybe next time consider this: there’s a real human being behind it, with real emotions, and a genuine willingness to learn and share (not virtually, but for real). So don’t hesitate to drop me a message!(PS: Yes, I partly wrote this with ChatGPT, let’s say 40/60… which proves my creativity still kicks in when it comes to being truly sincere).
