About Dieu do

Dieu Do [y-OO d-OO](n.): A powerhouse of positive energy, good spirits, and endless laughter; a civil and human rights defender who is passionate about addressing the affordable housing crisis, creating a humane immigration system that prioritizes legalization for all, and protecting workers through strong labor standards; and a determined young person who is steadfast in building a just world for our children seven generations from now. My Superpowers: Community organizing, conflict resolution, interfaith cooperation, public speaking, team building, and youth mentoring. My Favorite Small Businesses to Support: Outside of my activism, I have a deep admiration and love for food. I inherited this from my late father's service in feeding others for over 20 years as the former head chef of Saigon Café in Virginia, Minnesota. Although our family didn't have much, my father was a generous soul who always tried to feed those in need wherever and whenever he could. I carry his spirit with me to every small business I visit; hoping to continue his journey of finding the most delicious plates around the world. Some of my personal favorite gems in Minnesota are- Banana Pudding & Chicken Teriyaki Sandwich | Sammy's Avenue Eatery, North Minneapolis - Breakfast Platter (Toast, Ham, Breakfast Potatoes, & Sunny-Side Up Eggs)| South of the Border Cafe, Grand Marais - Frybread Taco & Blended Dark Chocolate Frappe | Pow Wow Grounds, South Minneapolis - Pad Thai, Green Curry, & Thai Iced Tea | Thai Garden on University Avenue, Saint Paul, MN
