About Dilan Omer

I am a Course Coordinator & Lecturer in Health and Social Science at the London School of Science and Technology. I play key roles in ensuring the highest standards of teaching, learning & assessments. My specialism lies in the social and political factors that influence Covid-19 interventions and policies. I have written two theses that focus on this pressing issue, offering insights into the experiences of university students and minority ethnic groups. These pieces of writing employed a mixture of both quantitative and qualitative primary research. The first thesis (undergraduate) explored the influence of government policy on social isolation among undergraduate students in the UK. The second thesis (masters) shifted the perspective of Covid-19 vaccine hesitancy from epidemiology to cultural anthropology and sociology to emphasize the importance of understanding vaccine hesitancy beyond just perceptions.
