About Dillan Black

I often get asked the question,"why did you decide to become a financial advisor?" My response to that question is that I spent my childhood in a family that was by no means wealthy, but we weren't poor either. We were your average blue-collar family. I witnessed my dad and granddad work long, stressful, hours growing up just to provide for their families and hopefully be able to retire some day. I often thought if they could have their money work for them instead of them working for their money, then they could enjoy spending more time doing the things they love instead of working their whole lives. I strive to use this same mentality for my clients today. As a child, I was taught early on what having a strong work ethic meant. I was raised as a third-generation farmer as well as a family of construction workers. As you might guess with these two types of work, the importance of planning and hard work was instilled in me early on in my life. I still work on the farm, but once I finished high school I decided to stray away from the construction work and go to school to explore the possibilities in the world of finance. When you combine my background of a strong work ethic and planning with my compassion for finance, you may understand how I was attracted to the area of financial services. The importance of financial strategies for a family is vastly overlooked in today's society. Just as important as a construction blueprint was for my family to build homes for other families, having a strategy in place in order to achieve your financial goals is one of the keys to be able to accomplish the goals you have set for your own life.
