About Dillen Corlett

I am a hardworking self-starter with a passion for team development. I’ve held multiple positions with Aquatics and Safety at the UCSB Department of Recreation, helping to grow programs, support staff success, and ensure the safety and wellbeing of facility patrons. As a supervisor at the Recreation Center’s Aquatic Facility, I’m responsible for managing a large team of aquatic staff, preparing and overseeing frequent skill trainings for them, and offering support and resources as needed. Previously, I worked at SEI, a Bay Area nonprofit dedicated to inspiring and preparing the next generation of environmental leaders, within the Operations team providing internal and external support to programs. I often did background research on new program initiatives, such as implementing solar power management curriculum into universities and trade schools, and presented new staff development ideas to the people resources team. I also assisted with tracking employee information and the hiring and onboarding process, requiring me to work in detailed spreadsheets and handle large amounts of highly important data. Together with my educational background in Environmental Studies, which allowed me to gain familiarity with topics such as Environmental Impact Assessments, Life Cycle Assessments, the language of NEPA and the Clean Air Act, as well as technical skills like coding, data wrangling, and technical writing, I am uniquely prepared to tackle challenges of sustainability and climate change from an organized, team perspective.
