About Dillon Harr
I specialize in technology systems. Professionally, I design fiber optic communications systems for Thor. I also design digital video broadcast headends for cable companies; as well as ENG and SNG style news gathering,and other transport systems for DVB. Lately I've been building a lot of FTTH and LTTH DWDM based GPON. Thor is now DUNS registered, and we have CAGE code numbers as well. Outside of work, I enjoy computer programing and advanced computer processing projects. Avid fan of open source and the sourceforge guys. Involved with micro avionics and unmanned aerial platforms, with a focus on rotor craft. I like building my own electronics, and enjoy ARM programing and using single board Linux computers for interesting applications. I also enjoy farming and agriculture, having grown up in an agricultural area. I occationally volunteer design or 3D simulation services to collaboration projects. I recently assisted with precise solid modeling of an ocean drone for the project Protei, a sail drone designed to drag oil absorbing nets through spill areas. The model file was used to calculate dynamic drag forces needed to program drone. I enjoy all forms of technology, its both my hobby and my profession.
