About Dima Arafah

I completed my Master's in Population and Public Health in the Department of Community Health Sciences in the college of Medicine at the University of Calgary. My research focuses on adapting a Maternal-Fetal Attachment Scale within the context of Arabs. My bachelor degree was in Population and Public Health at College of Applied Medical Sciences in King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. I was engaged with vulnerable populations such as refugees, neglected sick kids and low-income patients to understand their needs and help them to use the health services and give them support. I was also involved in planning several awareness days, developed and evaluated health promotion and disease prevention programs, used tools to create and also evaluate educational materials. I was one of the judges in Heart Hospital in Qatar to choose the best educational material. Finally, I worked as a Research Assistant in Medical Education at the University of Calgary for 3 months on studying conformity signs. I had the chance to be one of the team that went to compete for Hult Prize 2016 that focuses on social enterprise.
