About Dimitar Kondev

Dimitar Kondev, Ph.D. in Law, Mag. Jur, LL.M, FAIADR, MCIArb, MIR, is a Counsel in the International Arbitration Group at White & Case LLP Paris and a Lecturer in International Construction Law at the Aarhus University, Denmark. Dimitar is advising clients on both contentious and non-contentious matters. His practice includes construction law in general, construction disputes and international commercial arbitration.He has extensive experience in providing legal advice on all aspects and stages of large-scale construction projects, incl. those based on the FIDIC Conditions of Contract. Dimitar participated in the legal review of the 2017 FIDIC suite of contracts, the FIDIC Emerald Book (2019), the FIDIC Green Book (2021), and the FIDIC Bronze Book (forthcoming publication). Dimitar is the current principal drafter of the FIDIC Bronze Book.He is also a member of FIDIC Contracts Committee Task Group 22 for the development and publication of an EPCM Form of Contract. Dimitar is empanelled as arbitrator with the Asian Institute of Alternative Dispute Resolution (AIADR) and as dispute adjudicator under the Bulgarian list of FIDIC Adjudicators (BACEA National List).Dimitar has authored several articles published in the International Construction Law Review, Construction Law International and other journals. Dimitar’s monograph 'Multi-Party and Multi-Contract Arbitration in the Construction Industry' published by Wiley-Blackwell in 2017 has received a number of excellent book reviews. The second edition of this book was published by OUP in 2025.
