About Dimitra Repana
I am a Consultant Medical Oncologist specialising in colorectal cancer and genomics. After graduating from the Medical School of the University of Thessaly in Greece, I was trained in Medical Oncology both in Greece and the UK. In 2016, I joined King's College London, funded by a BRC/NIHR Clinical Research Fellowship and in 2017, I was awarded a Clinical Doctoral Fellowship by the Health Education England Genomics Education Programme. During my PhD at the Francis Crick Institute, I used the organoid model to study the evolution of colorectal cancer and applied CRISPR/Cas9 to organoids to validate therapeutic targets for colorectal cancer. In 2021, I joined St.George’s University Hospitals and share my time between Oncology and Cancer Genetics. Part of my role is mainstreaming genomic and genetic testing for patients with cancer. In December 2022, I was appointed the Regional Lead for the Lynch Transformation Project for the SE Genomic Medicine Service Alliance.
