An experienced Functional Safety Engineer with over 12 years in this role within the oil & gas industry mainly in the UK and over 30 years’ experience of project work of various sizes in different industry sectors including Oil & Gas, Pharmaceuticals, Chemicals, and Water Treatment, working in UK, Eastern Europe, Middle East, and Africa. Engineer with the ability to work alone or as part of a team; able to consult and interface at all levels, equally with the client and project team.Functional Safety Experience-> SIS engineering design and implementation; including development of Safety Management Plan, Safety Requirements Specification, Software Safety Requirements Specification, C & Es, SIL verification calculations, User Requirements Specification, Test Procedures etc.> Safety auditing; carrying out Independent Functional Safety Assessments, chairing SIL determination activities.Project Experience-> Aspects of the project lifecycle from concept phase through design, implementation, factory testing, installation/commissioning and operational/maintenance Phases.> Project engineering management and technical responsibility including typical tasks such as liaison with the client, resource allocation, project scheduling and execution.> Oil & Gas experience includes control and safety system projects onshore and offshore, and large integrated control and safety systems implemented in accordance with IEC61508 and IEC61511.> PLC and reverse engineering of legacy systems/relay logic as well as DCS / SCADA systems.> Batch software design development based on ISA S88.01 principles.
