As an executive-level counsel and strategic business partner, I bring a trifecta of crisis and risk management prowess, legal operations acumen, and sound strategic judgment with a thoughtful, empathetic approach. My career has included managing corporate legal matters for Fortune 500 and global companies in brand, retail, direct-to-consumer (DTC), and technology across compliance, risk, commercial transactions, employment, data privacy, workplace safety, consumer products, business disputes, and litigation.Currently, I serve as the Vice President of Legal, Americas and Global Head of Compliance for Dr. Martens, the iconic footwear brand which sells DTC in over 60 countries via DTC channels and wholesale and distributor partners. I am a key member of the leadership team with oversight for corporate governance, compliance, commercial legal, and risk in the Americas region, including US, Canada, and Latin America, as well as board-reporting for global compliance.Known as a collaborative, inclusive, and authentic leader, I operate with high integrity and seek to build trust across the organization. I am unflappable during times of crisis, always looking to problem solve by clearly defining what the business wants to achieve and devising a clear strategy. I thrive on connecting the dots, bringing stakeholders together, building process and equity, and leveraging a continuous desire to learn. Prior to joining Dr. Martens, I was a corporate counsel for Amazon Web Services (AWS) and tasked with building their health and safety (H&S) regulatory compliance legal team as well as advising Amazon’s global data center business across the Americas, APAC, and EMEA regions on H&S matters, product development and infrastructure, and new region expansion. I began as outside counsel to AWS while I was a shareholder at Ogletree Deakins, an Am Law 100 firm. At Ogletree, my work entailed representing and defending clients involved in governmental inspections and investigations arising from workplace safety matters, other regulatory non-compliance, and employment disputes.
