About Dinah Leventhal

As a partner at O'Donoghue & O'Donoghue's Washington D.C. office, my law practice primarily involves counseling union-sponsored employee benefit trust fund clients - both pension and health funds - on compliance with various federal laws including primarily ERISA and the Internal Revenue Code as well as a variety of legal issues that arise for large organizations. An area of particular but not exclusive focus for me has been multiemployer pension plan withdrawal liability, and I have successfully represented pension funds in arbitrations and federal court litigation over withdrawal liability assessments and collections. I have given presentations on withdrawal liability and other topics at a number of lawyers’ and trustees’ educational conferences, and I serve on the Board of Editors of the Employee Benefits Law treatise for the ABA’s Section of Labor and Employment Law. I am a Fellow of the American College of Employee Benefit Counsel. I also serve as the co-coordinator of my firm's pro-bono efforts, the focus of which has varied over time, currently focusing on assisting laid off federal employees. I am licensed to practice in D.C. and Maryland and am admitted to practice in a number of federal district and appeals courts and in the United States Supreme Court.
