About Ding Makuei

I’m a mother, a wife, an aunt and a sister. Professionally I am a lawyer, an author and an NLP practitioner. I am currently working at Sunshine Lawyers, a law practice founded by my husband Kot Monoah. I have previously worked as a Social Worker for many years. I joined Sunshine Lawyers to help people access justice and pursue the legal injuries and imbalances. I draw on a wealth of experience as a Social Worker having worked with Government agencies and non-for- profit organisations in the last decade. Our law firm specialises mainly in personal injury law. We have taken on other areas of law when the need to assist clients is necessary so long as it is the right client, right matter, and right time. I’m also the Founder and Director of School of Sunshine Limited, a nonprofit organisation with a vision to create a South Sudan free from poverty. We believe that no one should live in poverty and that each of us could work towards a more compassionate society where every individual can thrive and achieve their full human potential. Our approach is informed directly by the people experiencing disadvantage and will draw evidence from conducting research together with insights from our services and projects to develop practical solutions that work. We believe change can only happen when people work together, which is why partnerships with the broader community and organisations nationally are a cornerstone of the School of Sunshine Limited.
