About Dion Bate

I have worked for Moody's in the Johannesburg, Dubai and Toronto offices for 18 years with the first 8 years in Structured Finance responsible for rating South African and European RMBS securitisation transactions. Thereafter, I moved to Moody's Corporate Finance Group and currently a Vice President – Senior Analyst. I am currently based in Toronto and have lead analyst responsibilities for industrial corporate issuers rated by Moody's in Canada covering a wide range of industries such as retail, food products, consumer packaging, e-commerce, waste management and security services. Prior to joining Moody's in 2003 I worked for BNP Paribas (London) as an Analyst modelling and structuring leveraged finance transactions for two years. Prior to that I was an Equity Analyst at Standard Equities covering small cap stocks on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange. I graduated from the University of Pietermaritzburg, Kwa-Zulu Natal and hold a Bachelor of Commerce degree with Honours in Economics. I am also a qualified Chartered Financial Analyst.
