About Dipak Patel

I work with the Managing Director R&I, Research Director and Innovation Director in undertaking the following activities:(i) deliver the research strategy for governance, finance, contracting and infrastructure, and contribute to its development and review (ii) lead on compliance with research governance legislation including Medicines for Human Use Regulations 2004 and subsequent amendments, ICH Good Clinical Practice, Human Tissue Act 2004, Mental Capacity Act 2005, IRMER/ARSAC, Data Protection Act 2018 and UK Policy Framework for Health and Social Care Research to ensure patient safety lead on adherence to NIHR and YH RRDN requirements for the set-up, costing and contracting, and reporting of NIHR portfolio studies (iv) lead on the delivery of the Quality Assurance strategy of the Clinical Research & Innovation Office to monitor research practice and ensure patient safety (v) lead on systems for investigating breaches of research governance and research misconduct (vii) interface with, Clinical Research Facility, Directorates and Support Services to develop and deliver infrastructure to meet the needs of research teams work with the Research Informatics team to develop IT systems to facilitate research including clinical research databases, unified and streamlined governance database systems, electronic data repository systems and up to date reporting of recruitment to trial
