Ph.D. Researcher | Coastal Hydrodynamics | Compound Flood Modeling | Engineered Reefs | Climate Resilience I am currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering at the University of Texas at Arlington, where my research centers on compound flooding, wave–structure interaction, and nature-based coastal protection strategies. My work blends process-based numerical modeling (using MIKE 21 FM, MIKE 21 SW, and MIKE+) with high-resolution geospatial and environmental datasets to simulate and mitigate flood risk along the Texas Gulf Coast. Key areas of expertise: 1D–2D hydrodynamic coupling for river–estuary–coastal systems Wave modeling and reef-induced wave attenuation Sea level rise (SLR), storm surge, and vertical land motion (VLM) integration Flood risk assessment for critical infrastructure Data-driven geospatial analysis using Python, ArcGIS, and remote sensing I focus on the design, placement, and performance evaluation of engineered/artificial reefs to reduce wave energy, improve shoreline resilience, and support ecosystem-based adaptation. My goal is to provide actionable insights for climate-adaptive infrastructure planning in vulnerable coastal regions.
