BBC Radio & Britasia TV Presenter / DJ / Music Producer / Audio & Visual Content Producer / World Music Tutor I’ve been part of the BBC since 1997, starting as a studio assistant and growing into one of the longest-standing voices on BBC Asian Network, where I’ve presented for 22 years and counting. Along the way, I’ve worked across almost every part of broadcasting from playlisting and imaging to production and presentation. Highlights include: Helping establish Asian Network’s first digital playout system, moving the station fully from CDs to Radioman. Producing station sound and promotions that reached audiences of a week. Presenting specialist music shows with weekly listeners. Supporting the next generation of broadcasters through Coventry Music, including producing the Coventry Music Podcast. I’ve built my career on adaptability — moving from technical roles into creative leadership, and from solo presenting to mentoring teams. What drives me now is developing talent, raising content standards, and helping audiences connect with the sound and stories that matter.
