Background
About Dirk du Plessis
I started my Career at Protekon Construction (TRANSNET) where I worked for three years as a Electrical Semi skilled trade worker. I applied for and accepted a position at Cape Town City Council first as an Handyman (Electrical Semi-skilled trade worker) at the Engineering and Asset Management branch in N'dabeni. While in service I was promoted to a Senior Handyman and I passed my Electrical trade test Cum Laude. I finally left the City after eight years to join Chevron South Africa at the Cape Town Refinery in Milnerton. I assumed the position of Maintenance Electrician for five years after which I was promoted to Routine Maintenance Scheduler in the Centralized Planning and Scheduling Department.
