About Dirk Stroo

In Kolprem, Poland, we brought science into organizing and managing transport. Science came in by means of Process Mapping. We booked volume records. We invested. We won 3 UTK awards in a row for safety culture. By acquiring a Czech license, we became an international company. Our first international train drove to ArcelorMittal Frydek-Mistek, my previous team. Waw. Energising the company culture, we installed 6 Core Values. We worked in the spirit of “respect”, “initiative”, “commitment”, “teamwork”, “connect” and "honesty" with all involved stakeholders. It brought more volumes to us, which we realised at peak performance with solid financial results. My Polish team challenged me in learning that terrible difficult Polish language. The language barrier helped me / trained me / guided me to only focus on the headlines and the helicopter view over the company. The success of our logistics is not casted in formulas … although the fact that “the engineer in us” likes to have this. The success of our logistics … is being a psychologist to manage all involved stakeholders. These are some of the many positive take-aways of my working experience in mid-Europe. You gave me life experience luggage to move on with my professional career. In July, we booked a new mile stone by driving to the Polish ports. A new gate for Kolprem’s future market potential opens.
