Global trends, such as rapid urbanisation and demographic changes, will lead to substantial growth in the built environment and real estate industry over the coming years, especially in an emerging economy such as ours. Some of the drivers of growth on the continent are Africa’s young population that will drive the demand for real estate, as well as for different types of real estate. Industrialisation will continue across the continent and will be accompanied by a rapid growth. The export of natural resources and agriculture will remain key sources of economic development. This will lead to infrastructure shortages that will further create investment opportunities. As the Client Director in the Built Environment, I lead the property and land market strategy and take responsibility for the implementation of strategic - and revenue growth initiatives, with commercial accountability. My responsibility includes maintaining an oversight and ensuring the successful delivery of all engineering and advisory work for our built environment clients. Focussing on consulting strategies that are enabled by technology and continuing to build Zutari’s capabilities at the intersection of business, technology and operations are critical to my role. My qualifications include a degree in Town and Regional Planning and a post graduate degree in Sociology, with specialisation in Demography. With a career spanning over 28 years in the industry, I have a deep understanding and awareness of architectural capabilities and solutions relevant to a future ready property and land market. I have represented Zutari at various national and international property industry events. My network includes major local and international private and public sector clients, including financiers, investors, professionals and contractors.
