About Dita Anggraini

In 2015, I did 50 days of community service program in ‘Nyamuk’ island, a small island surrounded by the ocean that, due to the 208 km distance from mainland Java is not reached by the electricity grid. Only small solar-diesel generator systems provide limited electricity at night; the lack of electricity is obstructing the region’s growth in many sectors, from economy to education. With a very comfortable life in Yogyakarta, I realized that thousands of small islands in Indonesia face energy problems, obstructing the region from prosperity. Therefore, it has embedded in my heart that I want to be an energy expert, strives for energy availability for more people with the expertise and potential I have. I understand that to achieve this goal; there are many factors that must be taken into account—local energy potential, energy storage, electrification, electric vehicle, sustainability, financial feasibility, entrepreneurship, education, community engagement, and empowerment. Therefore, I motivate myself to be a long-life learner who is willing to learn and adaptively contribute to support a brighter future of sustainable energy for all.
