Inventor of Survodutide, a dual acting glucagon/GLP-1 peptide agonist now in Phase clinical development under a global license and collaboration agreement with Boehringer Ingelheim as a potential new treatment for diabetes and/or obesity. Inventor of Dasiglucagon/Zegalogue - a potential first-in-class soluble glucagon analog, which has shown optimized pharmaceutical properties, such as solubility, physical and chemical stability in liquid formulation. The features of Dasiglucagon support its potential use as a ready-to-use rescue pen for the treatment of hypoglycemia and as an essential component in an insulin-glucagon dual hormone pump,(the ‘artificial pancreas’), which would represent an important advancement in the treatment of patients with Type 1 diabetes. Zegalogue was approved by the FDA in 2021. Inventor of GIPR antagonist AT-7687 for the treatment of obesity, of which the IND recently has been accepted by the FDA to initiate Phase 1 clinical trial in healthy lean and obese subjects. Inventor of dual GLP-1/GLP-2 agonists - leading up to Dapiglutide - currently being evaluated in a phase 1b clinical trial. Inventor of triple GLP-1/GIP/GLP-2 agonists. Inventor of dual GLP-1/GIP agonists. Inventor of GIP/GLP-2 agonists. Inventor of triple GLP-1/GIP/Glucagon agonists. Inventor of several other drug candidates. PhD in organic chemistry from Aarhus University including exchange stay in Canada, complemented with continuing education in biochemistry and pharmacology (general and organ related) at the Copenhagen University as well as HD courses in economy, IT and business law at the Business School of Aarhus.
