PERSONAL BACKGROUND DIV LESSING I am & have been an accomplished commercial lawyer and leader of one of the top law firms in Pretoria and Gauteng for the past 25 years. Under my leadership it grew from a 3 partner 10 person branch office of one of the foremost law firms in Johannesburg to an independent fully transformed commercial law firm with 16 partners and 110 people at the time of my departure in September 2005. I am proud to say that it is still going from strength to strength and is a leader in broad based black economic empowerment in the legal industry in South Africa under the able leadership of my successor and current CEO, Tebogo Malatji. Since then I have qualified myself as life, business and executive coach (or potentialist as I prefer to call it). I achieved level 1 certification with Results Coaching Systems (RCS), a company with an international footprint, accredited with the International Coach Federation (ICF) as training institution. The teaching methodologies and thinking of RCS is used by the New York University School of Continuing and Professional Development in their coaching certificate programmes. I have completed both the RCS Intensive Coach Training and Individual Coaching courses successfully. I am a member of the ICF and achieved certification with the ICF as Associate Certified Coach (ACC). This is in addition to the fact that I have always practised personal development in my work, family, circle of friends and personally as well as the fact that I researched the topic widely over the entire course of my career. I have been blessed with 38 years of happy marriage with my wife and we have been entrusted with two beautiful children, aged 22 and 18 respectively. Specialties: It is my passion to facilitate individuals’ fulfilment and life-long energetic pursuit of their God given 100% unique potential. The privilege of being absent in the presence of someone (re)discovering his/her unique potential is an experience beyond description; like listening to the magic sound of heavenly music rising from a philharmonic orchestra under the skilful direction of a conductor’s baton.
