About Divine Eche
Passionate about creating sustainable food systems through innovative technology, I am currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Food Science and Technology at UMass Amherst. This past summer, I conducted research on polyphenol production in diverse maize kernels, exploring potential benefits to the gut microbiome, highlighting a future of plant breeding for microbiome active traits. I'm excited to explore other areas of interest including sensory analysis, food characterization, and consumer acceptability. Beyond academics, I serve as Treasurer of UMass’ Student Government Association and I am developing a food product for the Food Science and Technology: Innovate for Tomorrow Challenge. I am eager to apply my skills in innovative food technology and am open to internships or research opportunities in food science, sustainability, and product development.
