About Djarra Delaney
I am a proud Quandamooka person and Indigenous researcher with a focus on enabling First Nations communities to respond to climate change through decolonial action. I received my doctoral degree through the University of Melbourne. My research investigated climate adaptation practices in Australian Indigenous island communities. I have been fortunate to work in the public sector for the Bureau of Meteorology and in the NGO sector with WWF Australia. I was a member of the National First People's Platform on Climate Change from 2019 to 2024 helping to deliver the National First People's Gathering on Climate Change in 2021 and 2024.
