About Dmitrii Valiaev

Hello! I'm an Associate Lead Unity Software Engineer, experienced in developing casual mobile games, AR mobile applications and working with VR hardware. I am currently expanding my skillset from purely technical into Team Leadership. I've started my path to gamedev back in 2009 with making Source Engine mods as a hobby, switching to the professional Unity Engine career path circa 2016. When it comes to designing software, I strive to make my contribution valuable, extensible and easy to integrate for other devs. I believe that a Software Engineer’s job is not writing code per se, but solving problems as efficiently as possible, whatever it takes. This result-oriented approach has greatly benefited me and my employers. Team work is really important to me. I have experience collaborating with a wide range of industry professionals of different roles, including Game Designers, Business Analytics, Artists, etc. I have been consistently praised for my ability to adapt my communication style to the level of tech savviness of whomever I'm speaking to, which really helps in my current role as a development lead.
