About Dmitry Borisov

My research is focused on studying the Earth by means of seismic methods. The ultimate goal is to develop approaches, which use as much of the available information as possible to build the best images of the Earth’s subsurface at different scales. I am very familiar with numerical modeling of wave propagation using finite-difference and spectral-elements methods. I am experienced in using full-waveform inversion for retrieval of high-resolution elastic properties of the subsurface in the presence of strong heterogeneity and topography variations. Through my work, I gained experience in developing high-performance inversion algorithms and strong knowledge in processing large-scale seismic data. I worked with challenging exploration and civil engineering datasets, including active- and passive-source seismic.
