About Dobromir Uzunov

At the University of Birmingham I took a managerial position within the student United Nations Society, where I was responsible for organizing events and conferences abroad, managing close to 15 people. Later I applied these same skills in events planning in my Master’s degree, in which I devised PR strategies for local campaigns – with this knowledge I planned an event for a referendum campaign. My PR degree also taught me how to promote a company’s image in writing – press releases, news articles, social media posts, online content management and internal corporate materials. In higher education I also developed strong analytical proficiencies, which culminated in my award-winning dissertation research on media and journalism. I created my own methodology, applying a variety of quantitative methods to them, and thus I am quite comfortable with intense research, quantitative analysis and large amounts of data. My professional history complements my academic credentials with experience in customer-support positions. Working part time jobs taught me discipline and time management, but it also taught critical communication skills – propriety and positive attitude. In my work experiences, more than once I've had to display strong initiative and charisma, especially in my real estate internship where I actively sought clientele and negotiated between clients. Analyzing and researching the market, researching competitive companies, matching clients and negotiating contracts all required strong interpersonal and analytical skills. My previous position in a telecommunication and business analytics company required similar proficiency, but customer negotiation was conducted over the phone, while the market and company research in the firm prepared me to work with software and firm analytics. Finally, my extensive experience as an English teacher for several years, and my experience in Britain, has developed my proficiency with the language to a native’s level.
