Background

About Dominique Roche

I am an ecologist and meta-scientist (I study how scientists do science). My research is funded by a 3-year Marie Skłodowska-Curie Global Fellowship from the European Commission to study how publicly shared research data (open data) contribute to improving transparency, reproducibility, and collaboration in science. Beyond research, I am actively engaged in the open science and science policy communities, both in Canada and internationally. I am the president of the Society for Open, Reproducible and Transparent Ecology and Evolutionary biology (SORTEE). I serve on SORTEE’s Board of Directors and have chaired the Society’s fundraising committee since 2020. I am also an ambassador for the Centre for Open Science and the data repository Figshare; I sit on the Policy Committee for Research Data Canada, the Open Science Working Group for Canadian Science Publishing, the Data Rescue Committee for the NSERC-CREATE Living Data Project, and the Canada National Committee for CODATA (CODATA = Committee on Data for the International Science Council). In Switzerland, I am an expert reviewer for the Open Science Program of Swissuniversities. Website: https://dominiqueroche.weebly.com/ Google Scholar profile: & hl=en Sample publications below.
