Don Crocker is a nationally recognized leader in the philanthropic and nonprofit sectors, and as a long-time advocate for the rights of people with disabilities. With broad experience as a CEO and advisor, he is well-known as an energetic, empathetic, and inclusive leader who has a record of bringing together individuals from all walks of life to ensure healthy, agile, effective organizations and communities. Don supports leaders through Organizational Leadership Coaching, Board Effectiveness and Executive Transition Consulting, and Professional Development Workshop Facilitation for highly motivated organizations and teams in the philanthropic and nonprofit fields. Don served for over 17 years as the CEO of the Support Center/Partnership in Philanthropy providing consulting and coaching sponsored by philanthropy nationally and internationally. He now serves as the senior advisor for the Grunin Foundation's Capacity Institute. He serves on the Leadership Council at the Support Center, contributing to current efforts to help grantmakers, nonprofits and social enterprises accelerate positive social change. He is also a Senior Fellow for Strategic Initiatives at Services for the Underserved (SUS) in New York City, an organization that transforms the lives of people with disabilities, individuals with behavioral health challenges, people in poverty, & people facing homelessness. A lifelong advocate for disability rights, Don has a depth of experience in board & senior management effectiveness, managing executive transitions and succession planning, and nonprofit mergers and strategic redesign. Mr. Crocker recently served on the Board of Directors of GEO (Grantmakers for Effective Organizations). He serves on the Membership Committee of Exponent Philanthropy, and is a professor in NYU's Heyman Center for Philanthropy & Fundraising. He holds an MS in Leadership & Strategic Management and a BA in Psychology and was Frank Whitely Lecturer for AFP in New Jersey. A small sampling of grantmaking entities he has partnered with include the Grunin Foundation, Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, New York Community Trust, Prudential, and Clark Foundations, and the Victoria, American Express, and PSEG Foundations. Included in his busy life schedule, he loves having time with his family, is a former amateur softball and racquetball champion, now a competitive "Interactive" cyclist, pickleblall player, and enjoys theater, music, and the arts.
