About Don Hossler

My career has focused on factors that influence college student enrollments - college choice, student persistence, student financial aid policy, and enrollment management. My scholarly career includes more than 100 peer reviewed articles, book chapters and books as well as having received several grants. In addition to serving as a faculty member at 2 research universities, my career included 8 years the vice chancellor for student enrollment services, 5 years as executive associate dean for a large school of education, and ten years at a private liberal arts college. In 2010 I became the founding executive director of the National Student Clearinghouse Research Center. He has consulted with more than 40 large and small universities as well as the College Board, Educational Testing Services, and the U.S. Government Accountability Office. Additionally, I have lived in Russia where I was both a consultant and conducting research. I have also served as an expert witness in state desegregation cases and insurance lawsuits in which loss of business income as a result of enrollment drops were in contestation.
