About Don Loving

Experienced instructor with strong history of success in science education, in public schools (29 years), in higher education (16 years) and informal education at camps and in public presentations. Experienced in designing and teaching courses both face-to-face and online. Due to my background I work well with at-risk or disenfranchised students. Regularly present workshops to other educators at various conferences in Oklahoma and Texas. Also work with middle school students in their own schools, and in short programs on our own campus. Strong formal education with a BS from OSU/Stillwater, a Masters of Natural Science focused in Field Biology and Chemistry from University of Oklahoma followed a series of graduate-level courses and certificates. More recently this formal education has been in STEM education and in the Earth Sciences. Recent courses have been from Columbia University's Teachers College and from Rice University, among others. Support has been from NASA, Rice, and the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma. I am experienced in designing and launching various activities, from one-day or evening events to week-long summer camps. I have a wonderful job with amazing colleagues who support each other while encouraging personal growth.
