About Don Pascal

Don founded Moonrise Capital in the fall of 2016 and serves as Managing Partner. Moonrise Capital invests in global venture capital though venture capital partnerships, co-investments and secondary interests. Don served in the roles of President and CEO of Commonfund Capital between 2013 and 2016, following 15 years as Managing Director. He led or co-led the global venture capital program at Commonfund Capital from 1998 until 2016, leading investments in many of the world's leading venture funds as well as secondaries and co-investments. He served on both the Commonfund Capital Investment Committee and Operating Committee from the inception point of those committees through June 2016. These Committees had oversight responsibility for a full range of venture capital, private equity and natural resources programs. Don played a significant role in many of the new business initiatives at Commonfund Capital including the launch of its multi-strategy program, the emerging markets program, the opening of a Beijing office, and dedicated secondary and co-investment funds. Don graduated from Princeton University in 1981 and from The Hotchkiss School in 1977. Don also serves on the Investment Committees of The Hotchkiss School and The Heritage Fund. Don is married to Maris Pascal and has three children Carson, Laurel, and Hayden.
