I am interested in financial education, particularly for younger people. I firmly believe that financial education should be taught in schools. As long as young people don't understand how a credit card or mortgage works, they will continue to fall down in the financial department. Everybody needs to be taught how to save. We need to get back to the 'old days' when the saying was 'if you can't afford it don't buy it' not literally, please understand. There is absolutely nothing wrong with a credit card. But if somebody goes out and buys a new TV for say then they have the emergency fund in the bank, and when the credit card bill comes in 30 days the TV can be paid off. If you teach people, they do it, they respond. I know because I have done it with people.I also like politics and more importantly what is right and wrong. I enjoy the banter that flows between the politicians. But you do get some poor ones that frankly would be better on the stage.I also play golf and my handicap is coming down nicely now, especially as I am getting the time to practice again. I love Rugby League, but I prefer to watch it on TV. I would love to go to Australia and watch games over in the National Rugby League (NRL). The guys that play this game have my total respect, because believe me this game is hard. My work is my passion. We had a conversation in the office recently and I was asked by the staff if I won the rollover on the lottery that weekend (it was £15M apparently) would I retire? You may be surprised to learn that I said 'no I would not.' If I did win the lottery I would probably give most of it away anyway. I don't want to be remembered as 'that bloke that won the lottery' I like helping people, I like helping them achieve their financial objectives.
