About Don Winchell
After graduating from Syracuse with my Engineering degree, I stayed in Syracuse to work on my MBA while working as an engineer at an air conditioning firm. I moved on before I completed my graduate work and moved to NYC. I had a position as a Field engineer traveling the east coast, but even then I wanted to be in sales. I moved to S. Florida and worked as a Field Salesperson covering a large part of S. Florida. I moved to Colorado to be with my wife and her family and started a business Fixing and Flipping single-family homes. I am still working as the Operating Manager of that firm, Kelvin Properties. Problem-solving, teamwork as well as oral and written communication skills are necessary to complete projects with many moving parts. You need to be proactive, disciplined, organized, and results-oriented to be successful. When I was in sales, it was important to be in front of the right person. Whether that was the engineer or the tech doing the work, or purchasing contact. It was always important to be able to talk to everyone.
