About Don Wuethrick

I approach the art and science of technical communication with one question in mind—Why? That's right. It's simple. Why bother? Why open it? Why press that button? Why read this? I believe that people are naturally inquisitive, but that hesitation stems from a lack of confidence and little understanding about the purpose of a given task. I work to design documentation that replaces tribal knowledge. There is no replacing experience, but remember, experience has to start somewhere. It starts when I am able to show someone how to perform a task that he or she has never had to perform. Good instructions yield success. From there, repetition yields even better methods for consistently performing that task. Experience flourishes, and soon the learner is the teacher. My goal in creating technical documentation is to take learners and sculpt them into teachers. I am fluent in Adobe FrameMaker, Adobe PhotoShop, Adobe Illustrator, and InDesign, as well as the Microsoft Suite of products.
