About Donal Hogan

With over 10 years of experience in ecology and conservation, I am passionate about protecting and enhancing the biodiversity and cultural heritage of the Burren region. As a Regional Manager with ACRES Burren Aran CP, I lead the implementation and monitoring of the results-based scheme which rewards farmers for delivering high-quality habitats and ecosystem services. In addition I'm heavily involved in the delivery of a wide ranging suite of supporting actions which help farmers to help nature while being fairly financially compensated for doing so. I'm quite a pratical person and I enjoy seeing how my work can have a measurable impact on the ground. I learn well from others and really enjoy transferring knowledge between farmers and between farmers and scientists. In addition to my ecological expertise, I have developed skills in photography and videography, using both cameras and drones to create engaging and informative media for both my work and for various external clients, including the National Parks and Wildlife Service and the Burrenbeo Trust. I enjoy using my creativity and technical abilities to showcase the beauty and diversity of the Burren landscape and its people.
