About Donald Clark

My most recent employment has been with Peterson and Control Union as a Project Engineer for Wind and Renewables in the Peterson Offshore Group for over a year. Prior to this I was completing a Bachelors with Honour in Mechanical Design Engineering at the university of Northumbria. Before this I was on placement with Ferguson Group (now Hoover Ferguson) where I became proficient with the CAD software Solidworks. My role there as Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer involved me building 3D models and producing the related drawing packs to enable manufacture and production of a variety of the company’s Cargo Carrying Units. While undertaking my work, I am also looked to suggest efficiencies in the company’s processes – for example; time-saving through improving the design and use of templates. At Robert Gordon University, I studied and graduated in Mechanical and Offshore Engineering. Through that, I have developed skills relevant to a range of engineering disciplines given the focus of the course on the oil and gas industry and the subsea sector. This learning was reinforced through summer placements with Harkand Group. I also was a member of the university's ROV team, RGU Subsea Robotics, and competed internationally against 30 other finalist teams in the June 2015 Marine Advanced Technology Education competition in St John’s Newfoundland (finished 8 th overall – but won an award for best outcome for budget spent). My main extra curricular activity is volleyball, where I have played (and captained) a national league team; been player and coach for the university team; represented my district nationally at age-group level; achieved a coaching qualification; and coached at a number of schools.
