About Donavan Wheeler

I have acquired many skills over my time working with databases and previously while working towards an advanced degree. These skills include administering and developing for Microsoft SQL Server, and programming scripts to analyze and move data about. The languages I know best involve T-SQL, C#, and IDL. I am also competent and capable of working in C++, Java, Perl, and Python. I have also dabbled some in HTML, and PHP. Should I not know a needed language, I can easily pick it up quickly and be working in it in no time. My most recent projects have involved building and maintaining Databases using Microsoft SQL Server, building packages in SSIS to handle ETL operations for both importing and exporting data, building reports for SSRS and managing SSRS itself. I have also worked in C# to use Google's API for pulling data from Sheets, Gmail, as well as briefly working with Microsoft's Officer 365 API to pull from Excel Online. I also have past experience with SharePoint 2013 configuring and developing for it. I have excellent analytical skills that I seek to always keep sharp. From using it to help developers analyze why their current app may be suffering problems, helping QA the app and reporting to the developer the issues found, and researching problems ran into myself or by fellow developers in hopes of locating adequate solutions. During my education I worked with analyzing scientific data of varying size and sources, from climate models such as WACCM to MLS satellite data. From this work I have one published paper with analysis of WACCM and ERA40 data for Cold Air Outbreaks. Of all of this I find I enjoy analyzing data/issues and found it to be by far my strongest skill. I am also capable of teaching. Over my graduate career I had taught over 10 semesters, resulting in having taught a total of 30 undergraduate laboratory courses. These courses were Physical Science, Elementary Physics 1, Elementary Physics 2, and a lab over Weather and the Atmosphere.
